BRIEF to THE SUCCESS

This beautiful project was brought to life through creating a nature-centric design to foster children’s growth and learning. Its success and accolades come down to the strong relationships built, cohesive communication, creative design thinking, and always leading with curiosity. I’m incredibly proud of the building, but more than that I’m proud of not just responding to the client’s brief, but thinking outside the box, challenging the team, asking the right questions, and keeping everyone inspired along the way.

VISION

Upon arrival children walk along an elevated timber bridge over the native plants and rejuvenated wetland and immediately experience a sense of adventure and exploration. Looking around sparks the imagination and fosters a feeling of leaving the everyday and entering a unique world.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

I used a series of simple clear diagrams that break down the key complex concepts step by step help the client, consultants, contractor understand exactly my intent. They can immediately engage and get around my vision. This makes future tricky conversations much easier when they are sold on the idea.

FACILITATING TEAMS

Delivering a project of this scale and complexity requires constant communication and co-ordination between everyone involved. I know the building intimately therefore its my job to ensure everyone is clear about how it goes together and all disciplines are co-ordinated. I have to wear all the consultants hats to understand their discipline enough to ask the right question to ensure everything integrates as design. This takes incredible listening and personable skills which I bring to the table.
