I’m Marco, a new dad, an architect, and the person my friends, my colleagues and my family all call when they have an idea or are stuck with something AI. My first “aha” moment was ChatGPT in 2022. Since then I’ve spent less time chasing that feeling for myself and a lot more time helping others unlock their moment. I anticipate you’re inundated with applicants, so I made this Intro video instead to show you why I’m your next Intelligence Operationalisation & Adoption Specialist.

WHY SOUTHERN CROSS

While I get a buzz from building and have a good level of technical fluency, that’s not where I add the most value. I’m most interested in helping others learn, get excited, and feel inspired along the way. I’m in Claude Code most days and I’ve shipped a working on-demand agent system, so I’ll be able to work alongside your Intelligence and Automation Engineer, and also look forward to learning from them. I care most about working with and empowering teams. And I’m driven by practical governance, measurable performance gains and capability that lasts.

ARCHITECT TO AI

I’ve spent 11 years facilitating large teams with different agendas and levels of technical fluency, understanding what people need and keeping everyone aligned along the way. Translating complex ideas simply and influencing change are skills I’ve honed. After 2+ years of immersing myself in AI, I’ve never been clearer and ready to pivot - bringing my skills, ability to connect and communicate, meeting people where they are and bringing them up with everybody else. I want to help transform Southern Cross teams and help them thrive in this huge transitional phase.

• AI architecture tool, for Arcaina, a Nelson company, that saves two days of work/project in 10 minutes. Mapped, working demo built and sent for approval. Tool is one part of the architecture studio below.

• An agentic architecture studio that takes care of high friction repetitive tasks. I held team discovery sessions, mapped our end-to-end processes, redesigned workflows and tracked results.

• 1:1 Coaching with a director of a Structural Engineering firm to help him develop a tool for his workflow. Saves two hours/fornight of work in 4 minutes.

• Developing an AI brain for an ecommerce brand, and more importantly, training and upskilling the co-founders to use it, and optimise it.

Southern Cross started in 1961 so New Zealanders could get healthcare access they otherwise couldn’t. The same idea holds with AI: used well and used responsibly, it’s a leveller, and part of this job is making sure nobody’s left behind as it evolves.
